Virtuoso's 2007 Overseas Symposium |
March 2007 - Between March 2nd and 6th, 2007, St. Petersburg and the Grand Hotel Europe hosted the Virtuoso's 2007 Overseas Symposium. Virtuoso brought together some of the most influential people of the luxury travel industry, both preferred travel providers and travel agency owners and managers, to discuss industry trends, challenges and opportunities, and the future of luxury travel. Attendance is by invitation only and capped at 350 participants.
Attendees for Symposium, the only meeting of its kind in the industry, include CEO's of the world's best hotels, resorts, spas, cruise lines, private yacht companies, tour operators, destination management companies, as well as specialty travel companies. The owners and managers of elite travel agencies from 22 different countries joined these high-level executives for a series of presentations as well as spectacular events throughout St. Petersburg.
During the Symposium the participants highly appreciated the advantages of the following St. Petersburg meetings and banqueting facilities like Yusupov Palace, Ethnographic Museum, Drama Theatre of Komissarzhevskaya, Theatre of Musical Comedy, Grand Hotel Europe banqueting and conference facilities.
At the gala dinner in Catherine's Palace in Tzarskoe selo Mathew Upchurch, CEO, Virtuoso thanked the Grand Hotel Europe management and staff for the perfect organization of the symposium events. All participants were impressed by St. Petersburg as a travel destination. Hopefully this will bring additional flow of income to the economy of St. Petersburg through the new Virtuoso travelers in the nearest future.
