The hearts of all rose-lovers begin to beat a little faster when the smooth, round, velvety and aromatic petals of a rose begin to open – beautiful, precious and romantic. Flowers are a unique pleasure for anyone to be around, and now, especially for International Women’s Day on March 8, the Grand Hotel Europe presents its own type of rose, the «Grand Europe».
The new type of rose has large, classically-formed buds and a subtle fragrance. The petals are a deep pink with a crimson hue, and the stems are firm and up to 80 cm long. The edges of the petals are slightly rolled, which gives the rose head a particular charm and elegance. The rose’s leaves are dark green, strong and shiny. Once cut, the flowers are unusually long-lasting, and last up to 12-14 days.
The hybrid was cultivated at the request of the hotel by the Dutch company Olij Rozen, which has specialised in the cultivation of roses for almost a century. The process of creating the hybrid took three years, and now the «Grand Europe» will grace the interiors of one of the oldest hotels in St Petersburg. Bouquets of the Grand Hotel Europe’s very own roses can also be ordered at the hotel’s florist’s shop.
The «Grand Europe» rose is the latest addition to the exclusive collection of the Grand Hotel Europe, which includes «Grand Hotel Europe Melange Imperial» Dominican cigars, «L’Europe 1875» fragrance and «Dominique’s» hand-made chocolates.
