St. Petersburg, October 2008 – Once again the Grand Hotel Europe has welcomed the annual international tennis tournament St. Petersburg Open being chosen the official hotel of the competition.
During the last 13 years already, since 1995, the Grand Hotel Europe has been an official partner to the St. Petersburg Open, a major event on the city's sports calendar. During the hotel’s history, it has played host to world renowned tennis stars such as Andre Agassi, Steffi Graf, Marat Safin, Mikhail Youzhny, Nikolay Davydenko, Mario Ancic, Andy Murray and others.
On October 24, Dmitry Tursunov participating in the tournament has become the guest of Grand Hotel Europe booth in sports complex “Peterburgsky”, the venue for the St. Petersburg Open. He was communicating and autographing to his fans.
On October 25, the Grand Hotel Europe was hosting participants and VIP guests of the tournament on a special “Grand Collection” traditional dinner in the historic Krysha Ballroom. The highlight of the program was the first ceremony of St. Petersburg Open Tennis Award for contribution to tennis progress in St Petersburg and Russia.
